“This term saw the school career close of P.S Whipp, who had passed through every form and distinguished himself in each. In 1907 at the Christmas examination of the College of preceptors, he passed the Lower Forms: the following year he gained Third Class Honours with Distinction in several subjects, and also carried off the general proficiency prize. In 1909 saw him obtain Second Class Honours with Distinction, in 1911 he obtained First Class Honours with Distinction in English and six other subjects: while he was 1st in All England for Geometry and 2nd for Book Keeping and Mensuration. Last year he obtained a First Division of the London Matriculation, and recently he sat for his inter B.Sc at the same university. I have only to refer you to the list of successes for 1913 to show that we have striven to inculcate thoroughness into all their work. There were few great barriers to success in life than lack of thoroughness”.
