We have not been successful in tracing his entry to the school: can only assume that he was at Shoreham College before 1899 when we have no records.
The Commonwealth War Graves Commission has no trace of J.A. Whitehorne-Cole killed in action 27th June 1916. However, they do record the death of A.G. Whitehorne-Cole on 20th September 1917.

“Our Record” for 1921 refers to Walter Whitehorne-Cole in the dedication of the stain-glass window.
A. G. Whitehorne-Cole is buried in Bailleul Communal Cemetery 111.C. 254.
