“Captain Fuller M.C. Of the Royal Fusiliers, who fell when leading his men into action, was an Old Boy of Shoreham Grammar School. Born in Shanghai, he was not quite 21 years of age. He gained his Military Cross for the gallant rescue, under fire, of a man who had been buried in mud. The officer, using his hands only, succeeded after 3 hours desperate work in digging out the man. Fuller had previously been wounded”
